Background

The Information Systems Center(ISC) at the U.S. Embassy in Copenhagen provides Information Technology(IT) support to assigned U.S. government employees. The IT support provided to our staff includes various Microsoft products such as SharePoint, the Microsoft Office Suite, Exchange Server messaging system, Blackberry Enterprise Servers, a Virtual Server environment using VMware, Video Teleconferencing, and Private Branch Exchange phone system. Additionally, we support a gamut of Cloud- based applications that fulfill various Mission requirements. Moreover, the ISC serves as an advocate of the use of technology and is the focal point for providing technology based solutions to enhance our business processes.

Scope

The selected IT Intern will have the opportunity to work with and gain experience on various IT systems used to support the U.S. Embassy’s diplomatic mission in Copenhagen. Moreover, the IT Intern reports directly to the Information Management Officer(IMO) or Information Management Specialist(IMS) at the Embassy and assists ISC staff members with daily system administration tasks.

Minimun language requirement: Danish Level 3 and English Level 3 (good working knowledge).

Educational Requirement: Be a matriculated student at a University or College in Denmark in the field of Computing, Information Technology, Telecommunications or closely aligned disciplines.

Duration of Internship: 10 – 15 hours per week over the course of 3 – 6 months.

The internship is unpaid.
