Visit of the american ambassador
For the third time since she was sworn in as U.S. Ambassador to Denmark Laurie S. Fulton is visiting the Faroe Islands.
U.S.
ambassadors rarely visit the Faroes but remarkably Laurie S. Fulton is
embarking on her third visit since beeing sworn in on 15 july 2009.
It
is Jóhan Dahl, Minister of Industry, who will be hosting the visit that
begins on monday July 23rd and last until Wednesday July 25th.
Ambassador
Laurie S. Fulton will arrive with an military plane on Monday at half past
one. Jóhan Dahl and Pól E. Egholm will be welcoming the ambassador.
Nothing is sceduled for the remainder of the day.
On Tuesday the
seminar Partnership for Green Growth Event hosted by Føroya Tele starts
at 9.35. The Prime Minister will be hosting a lunch from 12.00 to
14.40.
From 15.30 to 16.30 the Assosiation of Faroese Students
is holding a seminar with Laurie S. Fulton who will be giving a speech
and answer questions about studying in the US.
And at 18.00 the ambassador will visit knitting designers Guðrun and Guðrun.
On
wednesday Suðuroy will be visited. In Tvøroyri new pelagic factory,
Varðin Pelagic, will be visited. CEO Bogi Jacobsen will be giving a
tour. Next the local hospital gets a visit before the party drives to Vág
where the Ruth Smith Museum and Faroe Marine Technic will be visited.
The
party will sail by boat from Sumba to Fámjin where the church holds the
first Faroese flag, bofore the party will return to Tórshavn.
