Transportation

DoDDS-Europe Transportation

Bus Passes:  To register for transportation, the child must first be enrolled in school and be determined to live within the area eligible for bus service.  Then the sponsor or spouse and the student must visit the School Bus Office to complete registration forms and receive a bus pass.  The bus pass must be shown to the driver or attendant prior to boarding the bus.

Inquiries about bus routes, pick-up and arrival times, or concerns about bus conduct should be directed to the School Bus Office at 469-8543 Mil. or 0951-300-8543 Civ.   The school bus office is located in building 7023 near the Shoppette and theater.  Customer service hours are from 0800-1200 and 1300-1600.

Please talk to your child about proper bus conduct - the safety of our children's lives is at stake. A School Bus Handbook will be given to each family when registering for transportation.  Bus Safety

Bus Transportation is a privilege, not a right.  Students who do not comply with the behaviors stated in the school bus handbook will be subject to discipline by school administrators.  Behavior/Discipline Policies

  • First infraction will result in a letter of warning

  • Second infraction will result in a three day suspension from bus privileges

  • Third infraction will result in a ten day suspension

  • Fourth infraction will result in suspension from bus privileges for the remainder of the school year

Copies of suspension letters will be sent to the sponsor's commanding officer.

CANCELLATION, LATE OPENING
AND EARLY CLOSING

In the event of excessive ice or snow on the roads, school may be delayed or cancelled.  If school is delayed, (usually two hours):

  • Bus will pick up students two hours later than usual time
  • School for all students in grades K-6 will start at 10:05.
  • The morning PSCD will be cancelled.

Note:   Please listen to AFN radio (1143 AM) for news of school delay or cancellation, and for updates throughout the morning.

Early Closing
School can be closed for a number of reasons; for example: accumulation of ice or snow during the day, or failure of the heating, electrical, or plumbing systems.  It is absolutely essential that each family designate an alternative destination for children in case school is closed early. Children need to know where to go when their parents are not home.
