Current Research
Aleta's interests are in life history of small cetaceans, strandings and interactions of small cetaceans with fisheries, and elucidating stock structure of small cetaceans using multiple techniques. Current projects focus primarily on bottlenose dolphins along the east coast of the U.S. and include resolving the stock structure of bottlenose dolphins, comparative health assessments, causes of mortality, and stranding patterns. Additional research includes international collaboration on age estimation, life history, and stock structure of various species of cetaceans.
