Medical Student Rotations

Select 4th year medical students may be approved for a 4-week elective rotation at The Pediatric Oncology Branch (POB). The rotation emphasizes the important connection between research and patient care in pediatric oncology. The student will be supervised directly by the POB attending physician and clinical fellows. Students will attend daily inpatient and outpatient rounds and multiple weekly POB conferences. Students are expected to research relevant topics and present a 30-minute talk near the end of their rotation. This is a highly specialized rotation and only medical students with experience and/or interest in pediatric oncology will be considered and possibly selected, on an occasional basis. Applicants will be selected based on review of the student's credentials and cover letter, which should outline their goals for the rotation. Only one student will be allowed per session.  Availability may be limited due to programmatic constraints.
