Comment on Tax Forms and Publications

Here's the place to provide us feedback on the content of the products we give you to help you comply with tax law.

Viewing and Printing Forms

The IRS uses Adobe Acrobat PDF files as a means to distribute publications and other information. PDF files are provided for all IRS published products.

File Formats

Explanations of Portable Document Format (PDF), Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML), HyperText Markup Language (HTML), Extensible Markup Language (XML), Text-Only (.txt) and Braille (.brf) files are provided.

Fill-in forms

IRS fill-in PDF forms use some of the features provided with Adobe Acrobat products. Currently, there is no computation, validation or verification of the information you enter and you are still responsible for entering all required information (instructions may require some information to be handwritten on the form).

"Information Only" Forms

Some forms provided as electronic files on IRS.gov are for "information only" and should not be reproduced on personal computer printers and filed with the IRS. The printed, paper versions of these forms are developed as "machine readable" products. As such, they must be produced using special paper, special inks, and within precise specifications.

Tax Forms Outlet Program (TFOP)

TFOP provides taxpayers with access to tax forms and related products through partnerships that include some libraries, post offices, government agencies, military installations, and other community outlets.

International Program

The International Program provides federal tax forms and publications to United States embassies, consulates, and various military legal assistance offices worldwide. Globally, approximately 62 locations provide the necessary forms, instructions and publications for U.S. citizens abroad to file their federal tax return.

Community Based Outlet Program (CBOP)

The IRS and local community organizations across the country are working together to increase the availability of federal tax forms, publications, and other tax products. After joining the program we will send you free tax products that provide tax information for your employees or the public.
