The VA now offers two automated options for ordering your prescription refills: by phone and on-line. Read the instructions below to see which option is right for you.

Before you begin, make sure you read the guidelines below:

  • This system is for REFILLS ONLY and cannot be used to pick up a prescription at the OBVAMC window.
  • Request your refill as early as you wish, but at least ten (10) days before you run out of your medicine.
  • You must use a touch-tone phone. If you do not have a touch-tone phone, mail in the refill request slip you received with your last prescription.
  • Have your prescription vials handy because you will need to provide your prescription numbers.

Then:

  1. Dial 990-5547 or 1-800-863-7441, Enter “1”, then Ext. 5547.
  2. Enter your full Social Security Number, followed by the pound (#) sign.
  3. Press “2” to reach the Pharmacy Options, then Press “1” for refills.
  4. Enter your prescription number (found on the prescription bottle label), followed by the pound (#) sign.
  5. While in the Pharmacy Options, you may press “2” to check on the status of a prescription, or you may press “8” to speak with a Pharmacy Technician between 8:00am and 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.
