Locations
The St. Louis, MO VAMC is a two-division facility that serves veterans and their families in east central Missouri and southwestern Illinois. The John Cochran Division is located in mid-town St. Louis. The Jefferson Barracks Division is located in South St. Louis County on the Mississippi River. In addition to our main medical center, we offer a number of services to our patients in three community-based outpatient clinics.
Waiting Areas
For your convenience and safety, there are waiting rooms on each floor in our medical center. Please do not gather in the hallways or at the nurses' stations. The main lobby in Building 1 at each division may be used as a waiting area. Please consult a nurse or clerk for the location of the nearest waiting room. You may also want to review our Visiting Hours and Policies.
Police Services
Police Service provides 24 hour law enforcement and security services to both the John Cochran and Jefferson Barracks Divisions, and works closely with the St. Louis City and St. Louis County Police Departments.
Because the VA Medical Center is federal property, all persons and bags are subject to search. In addition, no weapons, alcohol, or illegal drugs are permitted.
Chapel
A nondenominational chapel is located near the Education Wing in the basement level of the John Cochran Division. The Jefferson Barracks Division chapel is currently closed for renovation. Please contact Chaplain Service at (314) 289-6328 John Cochran Division or (314) 894-6566 Jefferson Barracks Division for additional information or to speak with one of our Chaplains.
