Congratulations on being assigned to Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, headquarters to the Western Recruiting Region and home of the Recruit Training Regiment. This is where we perform the most important mission in the Marine Corps—making Marines.
Whether you are involved in recruiting, recruit training or serving in a tenant command, you will be contributing to the accomplishment of training America’s elite fighting force. I am confident that you will find your assignment both challenging and rewarding.
I also encourage you to take advantage of the splendid recreational, educational, and cultural opportunities that the San Diego area has to offer. We have a comprehensive welcome abroad program that should prove helpful as you settle into your new home and new assignment.
