Ambassador Warlick Attends BSRF-12 DV Day

DV Day - Bezmer and Novo Selo

Ambassador Warlick joined Defense Minister Anyu Angelov and Vice Admiral Carol Pottenger, Deputy Chief of Staff Capability Development at NATO Headquarters Supreme Allied Commander Transformation, as well as the ambassadors of Ukraine and Macedonia, at Bezmer Air Base and Novo Selo Training Area on July 30, 2012 for Distinguished Visitors Day of the Black Sea Rotational Force 2012 (BSRF-12) multinational training exercise.  U.S. Marines and Bulgarian, Macedonian, and Ukrainian troops participated in the demonstration, which included parachute jumps, aircraft refueling operations in hostile territory, and a demonstration of an Improvised Explosive Device reaction drill including a medical airlift operation.  The Black Sea Rotational Force is a rotational deployment of U.S. Marines to the Black Sea, Balkan and Caucasus regions of Eastern Europe to participate in security cooperation to build military capacity, provide regional stability, and develop lasting partnerships with nations in the region.  BSRF-12 takes place between June 27 and August 5, 2012.
