RESEARCH AND TRAINING
The Office of History undertakes and promotes research into the history of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and of biomedical research supported by NIH, especially post-1945. Historical research is supported, encouraged and disseminated through fellowship programs, conferences, symposia and seminars, and by making NIH archives and resources available to outside scholars. The Office encourages research from a broad range of perspectives including intellectual, social and cultural history, as well as historically-informed research in sociology, anthropology, political studies, and Science and Technology Studies (STS).
