Our Mission

To provide the best care possible within our staffing constraints. We are not staffed for long-term, close followup care. Through a Cardiac Rehab Program, we will be able to monitor patients recovering from heart attacks during the initial phase of their recuperation. Patients with valvular heart disease, those requiring chronic followup, and those completing the recovery stage for the heart attacks will be referred to a Primary Care Provider for their followup care.

Eligibility

Active duty personnel and their dependents. Patients enrolled under TRICARE. Retirees and their dependents.

Appointments

Referrals are required for all "New" patients. These appointments are made by the TRICARE appointment section. The Pacemaker Clinic is available for pacemaker followup. The Coumadin Clinic is available upon referral from your primary physician. An appointment is needed to see a physician or the nurse clinician as well as for Holter monitoring, stress tests, and echocardiograms. No appointment is needed for EKGs; these are done on a Walk-In basis during normal clinic hours. If you are unable to keep your appointment, please call the clinic to cancel and reschedule. Arrive at least 15 minutes early for your appointment, as EKGs are required prior to "New" patient appointments and often for followup appointments.

Prescription Renewals

Patients referred to civilian physicians or to a Primary Care physician will be given renewals for a 3 month period or until the new physician assumes care. When your medications have been renewed for the last time and you have less than l month supply left, please fill out the renewal request available at the Cardiology Front Desk. Please allow three days for the physician to write your renewals. Once the renewals are put into the computer, they stay active for 4 days only and must be picked up within that time frame.
