Humanitarian Assistance Program Donates Computers in Lethem

GEORGETOWN –The Humanitarian Assistance Program (HAP) donated computers totwo locations in Lethem on January 23. In conjunction with the Ministry of Education, HAP donated four computers to the Arapaima Primary School. Prior to HAP’s donation, the Arapaima Primary School did not possess computers for educational purposes. The computers will also be used for quarterly training for all teachers in Region 9.

In addition, HAP donated one computer to the Regional Democratic Council, in partnership with the Civil Defense Commission. This computer will assist the building’s function as an Emergency Operations Center in support of disaster relief in region 9.

HAP is an initiative under the U.S. Department of Defense to assist Guyana's communities in the areas of social, economic and medical development. HAP works to bring together multiple local and international agencies to reach common goals.
