Americans are encouraged to make appointments via telephone before visiting the Agency.

Should an emergency occur the U.S. Embassy in Lisbon should be contacted – call the main switchboard at 21-727-3300 and press “0” to speak directly to an Embassy official.

The U.S. Consular Agency Funchal does not issue visas. For information on visa services, please visit the U.S. Embassy nomimmigrant visa website. The Consular Agency provides notarial services, handles applications for passports or Consular reports of births, and gives assistance for Federal Benefits (Social Security).
