Army MWR Arts & Crafts

FRG Meetings FRGs are welcome on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. for meetings with craft programs. Stop by to see which crafts are available and to book a date.

Birthday Party with a Craft Plan your next birthday party at the Crafts Studio. A variety of crafts are offered: painting ceramics, friendship bracelets, candle making, tie-dye t-shirts, melty beads and looper weaving. Stop by to see samples and book your party!

Trips

The Crafts Studio schedules regular trips to cultural events, museums, historic sites and flea markets. Call for a current schedule.

Engraving Service

We engrave plastic or metal plates for use in framing and awards. Prices vary, from $8.50 and up, according to material.

Retail Store

The Crafts Studio has arts and crafts supplies galore. Our store has 4,000+ items in stock for scrapbooking, ceramics, needlework, sewing and leatherwork.

All materials are available at the Studio. Class cost is $35.25 plus materials for six sessions, unless otherwise noted. Alternate class days and times can be arranged upon request.

Hand-Sewn & Quilted Patchwork Class: Wednesday, 6 p.m. The group works toward a completed quilt project (size/complexity is determined by experience level of students).

Lace Making Class: Wednesday, 6 p.m. Learn how to make fine edgings and insertions with bobbins, pillow, pins, pricking & thread, in the tradition that is hundreds of years old.

Knitting Knights & Crochet Cats: Thursday, 6 p.m. Open to knitters & crochetiers of all skill levels. Bring your projects and get help from the group. This is a hobby group with no fee charged.

Hand Weaving on the Loom: Thursday, 6-8 p.m. Class is targeted to beginners, but all are welcome.

Ceramic Mold Pouring Class: Saturday, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Cost is $18 per person (includes instruction, ceramic slip and basic tools to start).

Pottery Class: Saturday afternoon (call for time) There are four types of potters' wheels available. Try your hand at forming clay into bowls, vases, plates, etc.

The following classes are available, but not scheduled at this time. Call the Crafts Studio if you are interested:

Basket Making: Learn what scholars believe to be the oldest handcrafting skill.

Dry-Brush Painting: Use acrylic paints & brushes on textured ceramic pieces.

Scrapbooking & Rubber Stamping Techniques: Use stamps, ink, embossing powder, heat gun, ribbon and more to make cards, journals, gifts, scrapbook pages, etc.

Spinning & Weaving: Use a spinning wheel to make wool yarn or try your hand at a loom to weave placemats, rugs, blankets and more.

The Wood ‘N’ Frame Shop offers do-it-yourself framing and woodcraft opportunities or, if you prefer, our framing professional is happy to fulfill your custom framing needs.

Classes

All materials are available at the shop. Sign up in advance.

Wood Shop Orientation

Orientation is on Saturday, 10 - 11:30 a.m. Class is free and required to use the wood shop.

Matting and Framing

Held on the second and fourth Saturday of the month, 12 - 3 p.m. Cost is $10.25; materials are an extra cost. Reserve your seat early as space is limited.
