2013-2014 Distinguished Fulbright Awards in Teaching Program

Applications have closed for the current academic year

The Distinguished Fulbright Awards in Teaching Program brings international teachers to the U.S. for a semester and sends U.S. teachers abroad for three to six months. For program year 2013-2014, the participating countries are: Argentina, Finland, India, Israel, Mexico, Morocco, Singapore, and South Africa.

This program provides fellowships to highly accomplished South African teachers. Participants pursue individual action-based research projects, take courses for professional development, and lead master classes and seminars for teachers and students at local primary and secondary schools. Participants will be placed at two U.S. host universities for a semester-long program (from late August, 2013 to mid-December 2014). A host university faculty mentor will be assigned to each teacher; the mentor will advise and guide the participant in the refinement and implementation of their action-based research projects.
