The instructor's manual is intended to facilitate planning and implementation of the DWI Detection and Standardized Field Sobriety Testing Course. The core course consists of 16 sessions with two "live" alcohol workshops.

Focusing on the alcohol-impaired driver, the procedures outlined in the manual describe how SFSTs are to be administered. Each of the 16 classroom sessions include a set of lesson objectives, content segments, instructor led presentation and reading assignments in the following topics:
