New Employee Orientation

Welcome to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). Whether you are entering civilian service for the first time, returning after a break in service, or transferring from another Federal agency, this orientation provides the information you need on employment, employee benefit programs, and all of the forms you will need to complete, print out, and bring with you on your first day of work. Also included are a preliminary security briefing, a mandatory ethics briefing, and instructions regarding reporting for work. Please read the information carefully.

For New Federal Employees and Reinstated Employees, the projected time to complete the program is approximately two hours. Transfer and Temporary employees are likely to complete the program in less than half that time because there are fewer forms and less information to review. You do not have to finish the program in one sitting. To get started, click the "start orientation" button below. You must complete each section.

Additionally, please feel free to browse the Human Capital and DOE Websites for additional information.
