Drug abuse can be devastating to a child's health, but the impact doesn't have to be permanent.  For many of the health consequences caused by drugs, treatment is available. The following organizations and medical associations can provide you the information necessary to make the best treatment choices for your child.

A searchable directory of drug and alcohol treatment programs shows the location of facilities around the country that treat alcoholism, alcohol abuse and drug abuse problems. The Locator includes more than 10,000 addiction treatment programs, including residential treatment centers, outpatient treatment programs, and hospital inpatient programs for drug addiction and alcoholism. Listings include treatment programs for marijuana, cocaine and heroin addiction, as well as drug and alcohol treatment programs for adolescents.

The National Alcohol and Drug Abuse Call Center was created to provide accurate information and immediate assistance for alcoholism, substance abuse, detox, drug addiction, treatment, rehab and chemical dependency.  Information and services are provided at no charge.  The center is operated by Healthcare Options and is affiliated with Behavioral Health of the Palm Beaches, Florida, a licensed, residential treatment center.
