As a community, we can all benefit from the work of drug prevention organizations and their efforts to keep our communities and families drug free and safe. American Council for Drug Education (ACDE) – ACDE is a substance abuse prevention and education agency that develops programs and materials based on the most current and scientific research on drug use and its impact on society.  http://www.acde.org.

Boys and Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) – BGCA is an organization with over 4,000 clubs throughout the country serving more than 4.8 million children.  They have programs available in the areas of education, alcohol, and drug prevention, gang prevention and leadership development. http://www.bgca.org

Boy Scouts of America (BSA) – The National Council of the Boy Scouts of America supports more than 300 local councils that provide quality youth programs promoting leadership development.  http://www.scouting.org/

Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA) – CADCA builds and strengthens the capacity of community coalitions to create safe, healthy and drug-free communities. http://www.cadca.org

D.A.R.E. America – Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E) is a police officer-led classroom program for anti-drug, anti-gang, anti-violence education for children from kindergarten through senior high school. http://www.dare.com

Dose of Prevention – Created by CADCA and the Consumer Healthcare Products Association to help communities address and prevent cough medicine abuse. www.doseofprevention.org

Drug Free America Foundation (DFAF) - Drug Free America Foundation, Inc. is a drug prevention and policy organization committed to developing, promoting and sustaining global strategies, policies and laws that will reduce illegal drug use, drug addiction, drug-related injury and death. http://www.dfaf.org

Elks Drug Awareness Program - The Elks National Drug Awareness Program is the largest volunteer drug awareness program in the United States. The Drug Awareness Program distributes the latest drug education materials to organizations, both public and private, that share the goal of raising our children in a drug-free environment. http://elks.org/drugs

National Association of Drug Court Professionals (NADCP) – This association provides support to communities across the country in developing, implementing and enhancing drug courts.  http://www.nadcp.org

National Association of State Alcohol and Drug Abuse Directors (NASADAD) – This association supports the development of effective prevention and treatment programs throughout every state. http://nasadad.org

National Crime Prevention Council (NCPC) – NCPC is a non-profit organization whose mission is to enable people to create safer and more caring communities by addressing the cause of crime and violence and reducing the opportunities for crime to occur.  http://www.ncpc.org

National Inhalant Prevention Coalitions (NIPC) - The NIPC serves as an inhalant referral and information clearinghouse, stimulates media coverage about inhalant issues, develops informational materials, provides training and technical assistance and leads a week-long national grassroots inhalant education and awareness campaign. http://www.inhalants.org

Partnership for a Drug Free America (PDFA) – This non-profit group helps kids and teens avoid alcohol and drug use by influencing attitudes through persuasive information. Their national drug-education campaign also provides information to parents and caregivers on how to effectively address drug and alcohol abuse with their children. http://drugfree.org

White Bison, Inc. – This American Indian non-profit organization offers learning resources to the Native American community nationwide on topics such as sobriety, recovery, prevention and wellness. http://www.whitebison.org

Youth Crime Watch of America (YCWA) – YCWA enables youth to become resources for preventing crime, drug use and violence in their schools, neighborhoods, public housing sites, recreational centers or parks. http://www.ycwa.org
