Mission

The mission of Great Lakes and Ohio River Division Water Management is to (1) Deliver innovative, resilient, and sustainable solutions to DoD and the Nation; (2) Deliver enduring and essential water resource solutions using effective transformation strategies; (3) Deliver support that responds to, recovers from, and mitigates disaster impacts to the Nation; and (4) Build Great People, Teams, Systems, and Processes to sustain a diverse culture of collaboration, innovation, and participation to shape and deliver strategic solutions.

The Corps makes real-time water resources decisions that directly affect people, the environment and the nation’s economy.

Water Management is a world-class engineering organization that supports 8 of the Corps’ 10 Civil Works Business Lines:

Water Management Division Functions

Water Management embraces 7 Environmental Operating Principles:

  6. Building and sharing an integrated scientific, economic, and social knowledge base that supports a greater understanding of the environment and impacts of our work.
  7. Respecting the views of individuals and groups interested in Corps activities, listening to them actively, and learning from their perspective in the search to find innovative win-win solutions to the Nation’s problems that also protect and enhance the environment.
