ARC Launches Gems of Appalachia Grant Competition

July 2009

ARC has issued a request for proposals (RFP) for its Gems of Appalachia grant competition, which aims to promote sustainable tourism in "gateway" communities in Tennessee and Kentucky adjacent to the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area. Nonprofit organizations, local governments, public education institutions, and local and regional development organizations located in Tennessee's Scott, Fentress, Pickett, and Morgan Counties, and in Kentucky's McCreary, Wayne, and Whitley Counties, are eligible to apply for the grants. The deadline for submission of proposals is August 28, 2009.
