Visitor Information

Flu Outbreak Visitor Restrictions - Because of the very serious flu outbreak that we are experiencing across the nation, our VA medical center, as with all hospitals in Marion County, has adopted some patient safety measures that protect both visitors and health care workers. Please inform our patients and visitors of the following:

  • No visitors with influenza-like illness, fever or cough;
  • No visitors under age 18 (unless you make special arrangements with us);
  • No visitors allowed beyond immediate family, partner or significant other

We want our Veterans and their families to stay healthy.

Locations

Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center serves veterans from a 45-county area in Indiana and Illinois. In addition to our main medical center in Indianapolis, we offer a number of services to our patients in two community-based outpatient clinics.

Waiting Areas

For your convenience and safety, we have special waiting areas throughout the facility. Please do not gather in the hallways or at the nurses' stations. You may also want to review our Visiting Hours and Policies.

We have volunteers who work in the Intensive Care waiting areas at specific times. Please check in, and give the volunteer the patient's name. If you leave the waiting area at any time, please let the volunteer know, in case we need to contact you.

Contacting a Patient

If you come to visit a patient, please see our maps for directions and parking locations. You may also wish to review our visiting hours and policies page.
