Welcome to the U.S Army Tank Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center (TARDEC) Fuel Efficiency Ground Vehicle Demonstrator (FED) Web site. This site is the information portal for the FED project, which will employ a collaborative effort to support innovation and industry information. This government-led approach brings together government and key industry subject-matter experts (SMEs) who have demonstrated expertise in novel and innovative design, advanced automotive engineering, prototyping and manufacturing in military, specialty and performance vehicles (e.g., motor sports).
These SMEs will meet, brainstorm and evaluate technologies that can increase fuel economy and develop performance and integration solutions that are focused on significantly improving fuel efficiency while also maintaining vehicle platform performance, capability and payload.
