RECEPTION CENTER PARKING MAP DRIVING DIRECTIONS

Please use the following instructions and map (located at the bottom on this page) when entering Lackland AFB to locate the correct parking locations for the Basic Military Training Reception Center.
NOTE: Due to graduation events held at the Reception Center on Thursdays, the parking lot located adjacent to the Reception Center is closed for general public use. This area is used for handicap, distinguished visitor, and senior leadership parking.
Entering through Valley Hi Gate: (off Loop 410W)
Note: This gate is open 24-hours, however, the Airman's Visitor Reception Center (VRC) for those requiring a Visitor Access Pass to gain access to the base, is only open daily from 6:00am until 10:00pm. This gates allows easiest access to the 321st, 322d, and 326th Training Squadrons. It also allows access to the Reception Center and all areas of the base.
- Once cleared by Security Forces, drive straight through the Valley Hi
- At the stoplight, turn right onto Carswell Avenue
- Drive straight for approximately 4 blocks
- Parking across the street from the BMT Reception Center is permitted.
This is the Chaparral Swimming Pool lot.
Additional authorized parking locations:
- Lot A: Continue to drive to next parking lot on Carswell Ave
- Lot B: Continue to drive past the Reception Center to stop sign.
Parking is available immediately on your left. This lot is located near
the building labeled "Tops in Blue".
- Lot C: Continue to drive down Carswell Ave to stop sign. Turn left
onto Selfridge Avenue. Drive to second street on left and make a left
onto Walker Avenue. You may park in the lot located behind the
multimedia center (first building on your left).
- Lot D: Continue to drive down Carswell Ave to stop sign. Turn left
onto Selfridge Avenue. Drive to second street on left and make a left
onto Walker Avenue. Continue to drive straight until you reach a stop
sign. The parking is directly in front of you behind Building 5725.
Entering through Luke East Gate (left side of Military Highway):
Note: Often called the Main Gate or Gateway Gate is open 24-hours and has a 24-hr VRC. This gate allows access to all of Lackland AFB. It places you on the non-training side of the base.
- Drive straight through gate entrance to stop sign. Turn right onto Kenly
Avenue.
- Drive down Kenly Ave until you reach the stop light. Turn right at light
onto Truemper Street.
- Drive on Truemper Street to stop light. Turn left on stop light onto
Carswell Avenue.
- Use directions listed above to locate authorized parking locations.
Entering through Selfridge West Gate: (off of Military Drive):
Note: This gate is open Monday-Friday from 6:00 am - 6:00 pm ONLY. This gate allows easiest access to the Reception Center and 324th Training Squadron.
- Drive straight through the gate entrance to third street on right.
- Make a right onto Walker Ave.
- Use directions above to locate Parking Lots C and D.
- Additional Parking:
- Continue to drive down Selfridge Ave to stop sign. Turn right onto
Carswell Ave. Parking Lot B is immediately on your right. Parking Lot A
is immediately on your left.
- Continue to drive down Carswell Ave to second lot on right, main
parking lot located in the Chaparral Swimming Pool lot across from
the Reception Center.
Entering through Selfridge East Gate: (off of Military Drive):
Note: This gate is open Monday-Sunday from 6:00 am until 6:00 pm ONLY. This gate allows access to Lackland AFB, on the non-training side of the base. It places close to the Lackland Commissary and Main Exchange.
- Drive straight through the gate entrance and take an immediate left
onto Kenly Avenue.
- Turn left at stop light onto Truemper Street.
- Drive on Truemper Street to stop light. Turn left on stop light onto
Carswell Avenue.
- Use directions listed above to locate authorized parking locations.
Entering through Gateway West Gate (right side of Military Highway):
Note: This gate is open from Monday-Friday from 6:00 - 8:00 am ONLY. It allows for best access to the 320th, 323d, 331st Training Squadrons.
- Drive straight through gate entrance and make a left onto Gary Avenue.
- Drive straight on Gary Ave to stop sign (1.1 miles). Turn right onto
Selfridge Avenue.
- Drive to second street on right and make a right onto Walker Ave.
- Use directions above to locate Parking Lots C and D.
- Additional Parking:
- Continue to drive down Selfridge Ave to stop sign. Turn right onto
Carswell Ave. Parking Lot B is immediately on your right. Parking Lot A
is immediately on your left.
- Continue to drive down Carswell Ave to second lot on right, main
parking lot located in the Chaparral Swimming Pool lot across from
the Reception Center.
Additional overflow parking is located at the AAFES Mini Mall Exchange just 1/2 block from Reception Center.
