Wordpress

Wordpress is a blogging service which the Office of Response and Restoration uses to communicate and stay connected through the publishing of posts featuring news, images, videos, and perspectives related to our work.

We maintain NOAA's Response and Restoration Blog at http://usresponserestoration.wordpress.com. We typically post two to three times each week to keep you abreast of what's new at the Office of Response and Restoration. In addition, we maintain the NOAA ESI Blog at http://noaaesi.wordpress.com, which is intended to serve as a forum for sharing news and ideas about Environmental Sensitivity Index (ESI) maps and data, an Office of Response and Restoration product.

Please note that you are subject to Automattic's privacy policy (Automattic Inc. is the company which owns Wordpress) when visiting our Wordpress blogs.

In addition, users may post comments on the Office of Response and Restoration's Wordpress blog posts. We encourage readers to leave comments on our blog posts; however, comments will be moderated and any comment submitted that contains any of the following will not be approved:

  • Profanity and vulgar language.
  • Personal attacks or threats of any kind or offensive terms that target identifiable groups.
  • Promotes services or products (spam). Non-commercial links that are relevant to the blog post or comment are acceptable.
  • Makes unsupported accusations.
  • Comments that suggest or encourage illegal, dangerous, or destructive activity.
  • Personal identification that identifies the commenter by name, etc.
  • Long embedded URL strings.
  • Duplicate posts.
  • Off-topic comments.
  • Comments that are really customer support questions (for that, please contact us via our agency website).

The Office of Response and Restoration is unable to post comments from children under the age of 13 due to the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you are 12 years old or younger, you may e-mail us rather than posting a comment on the blog.
