Meeting the Reasonable and Good Faith Identification Standard in Section 106 Review Experienced Section 106 practitioners will benefit from this opportunity to explore the steps necessary to make a reasonable effort to identify historic properties for a specific undertaking and to carry out such identification efforts in good faith. Join Program Analyst and Archaeologist Tom McCulloch and NRCS Liaison/Attorney Advisor Kelly Fanizzo to learn about this regulatory standard while practicing its application to case scenarios. An Overview of Program Alternatives The Section 106 regulations offer five program alternatives to tailor the review process to specific federal agency needs. Charlene Dwin Vaughn, Assistant Director in the Office of Federal Agency Programs, and Associate General Counsel Javier Marques will familiarize participants with the program alternatives. Also, learn how to plan the consultation effort needed to develop a program alternative. This advanced-level program will guide Section 106 users, especially federal agency staff, toward opportunities for greater efficiency in their compliance process. Two new programs will open for registration later this spring.
