Fort Meade links to other websites that provide additional information and practical tools to help government agencies serve customers. We primarily link to other government sites, but will also link to non-government sites for information not available elsewhere within government. We'll choose links that go directly to useful pages, not necessarily to organizational home pages. Fort Meade's Public Affairs Office, which manage the site, evaluate links using the following criteria:
- Does the suggested link point to an official government-owned or supported website, or a reliable and trustworthy non-government site?
- Is the recommended website's content relevant, useful, and authoritative?
- Does it complement existing information, products, and services on Fort Meade's website?
- Does the information appear to be current and accurate?

What is a FOIA request?
A FOIA request is a written request for Department of Defense records, made by "any person", including a member of the public (U.S. or Foreign citizen), an organization, or a business. Requests may also be made through an attorney or other representative on behalf of "any person". Please refer to "A Citizen's Guide to Request Army Records" accessible from the menu on this page for information on submitting U.S. Army FOIA requests.
What is a FOIA Requester Service Center?
In accordance with Executive Order 13392, "Improving Agency Disclosure of Information," FOIA Requester Service Centers were established to serve as the first place FOIA requesters may contact to seek information concerning the status of their requests as well as the agency's response. The IMCOM FOIA Requester Service Center is the primary contact source for FOIA requests for records pertaining to garrison operations and management of Army installation support activities.
Where to submit Your FOIA status request?
Each federal agency is responsible for meeting FOIA requirements for its own records. FOIA requesters, who have questions concerning the status of their request, or the agency's response, should refer to the DA FOIA Requester Service Centers, accessible from the menu on this page, to determine where best to submit your FOIA status request. Only FOIA status requests for records pertaining to garrison operations and management of Army installation support activities should be submitted to this center.
