Free Flu Shots for Veterans

Flu season is here! VISN 12 VA hospitals and medical centers have scheduled walk-in clinics for enrolled Veterans to receive free flu shots. No appointment is necessary. Everyone six months old and older is encouraged to get the flu vaccination, especially people who have a chronic health condition like asthma; diabetes; heart, lung or kidney disease; or reduced resistance to infection. Health care workers and other people who live with or care for high risk people are also highly encouraged to get vaccinated. For more information on dates, times and locations, please visit your VA hospital or medical center website.

Do You Qualify?

There are many ways that a Veteran may qualify to receive top-notch VA health care at over 1,400 medical centers and clinics across the nation. The VA has highly trained physicians and clinicians that allow the VA to address many specialties. You may also be able to receive assistance with prescription medication. VA health care is portable. Once enrolled, you may receive care at your home facility as well as the nearest VA facility while traveling. If you are a Veteran, and you want low-cost, high-quality health care, please take a moment to see if you qualify.

Outreach

Recently, the Office of Survivors Assistance (OSA) collaborated with Office of Strategic Communications, along with the Veterans Health Administration's Employees Education Services and the Tragedy Assistance Program Survivors (TAPS) to develop a video that provides an introduction to the OSA, but also takes a look into the lives of Survivors and how working with the Department of Veterans Affairs has helped them.  This informative piece will introduce you to some of the many surviving families working with the Department of Veterans Affairs, sharing their stories and providing information about several of the benefits offered by VA. For more information or to view the video.
