It's common to hear that Americans face a "retirement crisis." In response, progressives have come up with their own solutions; including expanding Social Security and having the government run retirement plans for workers. In reality, though, the crisis is vastly overstated.
America has lots of problems, but too many billionaires isn't one of them. And most Americans agree. A Politico poll this week found that only 1 percent picked inequality as the economic issue that most concerns them.
Now, I don’t think anyone — even socialists — is obligated to pay above the legal minimum. But the irony here is still delicious.
When we compare the overall quality of America’s networks – measured not only by download speed, but also by coverage, data volume, and the choice of higher speed plans – to our fellow members of the G7 we do very well indeed.
Eighty-four years after Keynes ironically wished that economists could be "humble, competent people, on a level with dentists", the irony has changed directions; modern dentistry is based on real science, and has made huge advances in scientific knowledge, applied technology and practice. It is obviously far ahead of economics in these respects.
