Take a Book, Leave a Book – Pic of the Week

We have written about many different kinds of libraries in the past, from libraries abroad to libraries on wheels, but this has to be the smallest library we have ever discussed. Situated on North Limestone Street in Lexington, Kentucky, this colorful box houses a small assortment of books, including a legal thriller by John Grisham. There are no library cards or overdue fees; patrons are expected to take a book from the box and leave a book behind in its place. This box is one of many associated with the Little Free Library non-profit organization that distributes plans and materials for the book boxes, and provides a directory of Little Free Library locations.
