Press and Information Office

The Press and Information Office serves as the Embassy's voice to the public.  It publicizes events, organizes press conferences, and acts as the liaison to the Algerian and international press on Embassy and U.S. Government matters.

In addition to its regular duties, the Press and Information Office also manages several programs.  Through the TV-Coop Program, the Office facilitates and provides assistance for Algerian broadcast journalists to travel to and cover stories in the United States.  In addition, with cooperation from the Foreign Press Center located in Washington, DC and New York City, the Office provides assistance and a place to work for Algerian journalists on permanent or temporary assignment to the United States.  Also, in through Overseas Broadcast Services at the Department of State, the Press and Information Office is able to provide quality and current documentary and other informational programming to Algerian TV stations for broadcast nationally.
