ARCHIVES
The NIH Office of History Archival collections exist to increase historical understanding of the National Institutes of Health and health sciences among NIH staff, extramural scholars, and the general public.
The Archives collects manuscript collections, oral histories, photographs and audio-visual materials relating to the National Institutes of Health and its predecessor, the Public Health Service. The Archives maintains an active reference, subject and biographical ready-reference collection as well as an ongoing commitment to protect and preserve materials in preservation digital format.
In 2008 the Office of History has collaborated with the NIH Library to preserve the the National Institutes of Health websites.
