Develop and Implement a Content Strategy

Class Format: Webinar
Instructor: Melissa Rach
Date: Tuesday, November 16, 2010

Course Description

Creating online content for citizen customers has never been so complicated. Government agencies are expected to create more content, for more communication channels, with fewer resources than ever before. Content strategy—an emerging discipline focused on effectively creating, maintaining, and managing content—can help. Content strategy lets you plan for the creation, delivery, and governance of content. Relevant content. Quality content. Sustainable, measureable content.

In this seminar, Melissa will use examples from the public and private sectors to illustrate key principles of content strategy and how they can benefit your organization.

What You Will Learn

During this course, Melissa will discuss:

  • What content strategy is and why it’s important
  • How citizens' expectations of content from government agencies (and related organizations) are changing
  • How to tackle the “internal politics” of content ownership and maintenance
  • Simple tips for getting (and keeping) your online content in control
