Which Issues to Report through a Hotline Complaint
Issues related to fraud, waste, abuse, and mismanagement regarding programs and personnel under the purview of the U.S. Department of Defense that DO NOT involve reprisals or classified information.
Examples of these types of violations include:
- Threats to Homeland Defense
- Unauthorized Disclosures
- Human Trafficking
- Bribery and acceptance of gratuities
- Conflicts of interest
- Gross mismanagement, abuse, theft, or waste of funds
- Fraud, Waste, and Abuse of American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 funds
- Department of Defense contract and procurement irregularities to include:
- Cost/labor mischarging
- Defective pricing
- Defective parts
- Bid rigging
- Product substitution
- Spare parts overpricing
Who May File a Hotline Complaint
Members of the public and Department of Defense employees (military members, civilian employees, and DoD contractor employees) may file a complaint with the DoD Hotline.
