Major David A. Doucette

Major Doucette attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in May 1993.

Major Doucettes Marine Corps career began on 23 May 1994 when he reported to Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina. He graduated on 12 August 1994 and attended Marine Combat Training at Camp Geiger in Jacksonville, North Carolina. In September 1994, he attended Avionics School at both Naval Air Station Memphis, Millington, Tennessee and Marine Helicopter Training Squadron 303, Camp Pendleton, California.

In September 1995, Major Doucette reported to Marine Light/Attack Helicopter Squadron 269, Marine Corps Air Station New River, North Carolina, where he served as an Organizational-level Avionics Technician on Huey and Cobra helicopters. In August 1996, he was accepted to the Enlisted Commissioning Program and was sent to Officer Candidates School (OCS), Quantico, Virginia. Upon graduating from OCS, in December 1996, he was commissioned a Second Lieutenant and attended The Basic School in Quantico, Virginia.

In August 1997, Major Doucette reported to 2d Low Altitude Air Defense (LAAD) Battalion, Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina, and was sent to the LAAD Officer Course at Fort Bliss, Texas. Upon receiving the designation as a Surface-to-Air Weapons Officer, Major Doucette returned to Battery B, 2d LAAD Battalion, where he served as 1st Platoon Commander and Executive Officer. In August 1999, he was assigned to the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) (Special Operations Capable (SOC)) as the LAAD Detachment Officer in Charge (OIC) and participated in Operation JOINT GUARDIAN.

In September 2000, Major Doucette was assigned as the Adjutant for 2d LAAD Battalion.

In March 2001, Major Doucette was assigned to the 26th MEU (SOC) as the Marine Air Control Group Detachment OIC. During a seven-month deployment, he participated in Operations ENDURING FREEDOM and SWIFT FREEDOM in the North Arabian Sea and Afghanistan.

From June 2002 to June 2003, Major Doucette served as the Commanding Officer of Battery A, 2d LAAD Battalion. He was then assigned as the Officer Selection Officer, Albany, New York, where he served until July 2006.

In August 2006, Major Doucette was assigned as the Executive Officer of Marine Tactical Air Command Squadron 18 in Okinawa, Japan. In November 2006, he was promoted to his current rank and assumed command of 1st Stinger Battery. In February 2007, 1st Stinger Battery deployed to Iraq as a provisional security company in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM 06-08.

In November 2007, Major Doucette was transferred to Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina, where he served as Executive Officer for both 2d Recruit Training Battalion and Support Battalion, Recruit Training Regiment.

In July 2010, Major Doucette returned to MCAS Cherry Point, NC, where he served as the Operations Officer for Marine Air Control Squadron 2. Maj Doucette began his current assignment in January 2011.

Major Doucettes personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2) and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2).
