Osan Middle School
Transportation
Parents/Sponsors are reminded that:

a) The Osan school bus office is open from 0800-1600 daily (Monday-Friday) and closed on all U. S. legal holidays.

b) To register for transportation you will need to bring a copy of the form 600 which you will receive from the school registrar.

c) For safety and security reasons students are required to show a bus pass when entering the bus to/from school, and are only authorized to ride their assigned bus route.

d) Please consult the base housing office representative for details on your walking/commuting zones prior to entering into a rental agreement. Normally, the walking distance should not exceed 1 mile for students in kindergarten through grade 6 and 1.5 miles for student's grades 7 through 12.

The sponsor's place of duty or work determines which school children attend and their eligibility for transportation. Distance from the residence to the assigned school determines whether children walk to school or ride the bus. The standard for transportation of elementary students is more than one mile and for secondary students is over 1.5 miles. The family residence also must be located within the school commuting area. Community Housing Referral Offices have information about each school commuting area and its boundaries.

Riding the school bus is a privilege and not a right. The safety of all students, monitors, and bus driver is of the utmost importance. Students granted bus-riding privileges will be issued a bus pass in order to ride the bus. Students are responsible for complying with established school bus behavior standards and for conducting themselves in a safe and proper manner
