School Outreach Program

The embassy’s School Outreach Program is designed to provide Swiss secondary school students with the opportunity to meet with U.S. Embassy staff to learn more about the United States. The discussions can be carried out in English, French and German. That said, many teachers see this as a good opportunity for their students to practice their English-language skills.

    Launch of "American English" Website!

    The Office of English Language Programs in the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs is pleased to announce the official launch of the American English website at americanenglish.state.gov .  American English (AE) is an extensive online resource center for teaching and learning the English language and U.S. culture. The website provides a variety of engaging, up to date resources for teachers' professional development and for use with students in the classroom.
