On June 22, Ambassador Ricciardone and M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Economic Policy Research Foundation of Turkey (TEPAV) and President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), signed a Memorandum of Understanding outlining USG and TEPAV/TOBB cooperation in establishing an Entrepreneur-in-Residence office in Turkey and doing a number of Global Entrepreneurship Program (GEP) activities in Turkey. TEPAV Director Dr. Güven Sak, a large number of press, and about 40 TOBB/TEPAV invitees witnessed the signing.

GEP-Turkey has just launched its website (www.gep-turkey.org), and Turkcell has recently signed a Letter of Intent – making it the first local GEP partner company. Turkcell Group has over 60 million customers, operations in 9 countries, and is the third largest mobile operator in Europe in terms of subscriber numbers.
