K9 Seminar in Costa Rica

Recently, a group of highly skilled American search and rescue experts (and their humans!) visited the U.S. Embassy.  The dogs and their handlers were here to train in jungle search and rescue techniques, a  potentially life-saving  skill in Costa Rica’s rugged national parks.  Here, the group poses before the Embassy with Consul General Paul Birdsall, who addressed them on coordinating the efforts of volunteers, host country authorities and the Embassy in cases where American citizens disappear overseas.  The group’s organizers expressed their hope that they could return to help train Costa Rican dogs (and their humans.)
