The U.S. Embassy Denies Meeting of Ambassador Jeffrey with Harith al-Dari

The United States Embassy in Baghdad categorically denies recent media reports claiming that U.S. Ambassador James Jeffrey met with Harith al-Dari. Mr. al-Dari represents views that do not have a role in political developments and reconciliation in Iraq and his associations with terrorist groups that have murdered thousands of innocent Iraqi men, women, children, and members of Iraqi security forces have only served to foster conflict and sectarian division. The U.S. Ambassador has not met with Mr. al-Dari or his representatives.
