Welcome to the Nonimmigrant Visa (NIV) and Immigrant Visa (IV) Sections of the U.S. Embassy Accra, Ghana!

Interest in travel to America continues to grow.  We look forward to welcoming qualified visitors to our country for tourism, business, study, cultural and other purposes.  As you plan for your trips to the United States, we encourage you to plan ahead to allow us enough time to process your visa before your trip.  We recommend that travelers begin the visa application process by scheduling your appointment as early as possible.  This will ensure that we have plenty of time to conduct your interview, review your application, and determine whether we can issue a visa.  Thank you for your cooperation, and for your interest in visiting our country.

NOTICE: Visa applicants are advised that computer system problems in the Consular section have severely curtailed our ability to accommodate visa appointments, walk-ins, and renewals.  We will advise the public when we return to full capacity.  We appreciate your patience and understanding.

    The Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy in Accra will not open for regular visa or American citizen services on Tuesday February, 26 2013. We will, however, remain open and available for emergency services related to the serious illness or injury, death or arrest of an American citizen on this day.
