Message from the Ambassador

Since regaining independence in 1991, Estonia has transformed itself into a dynamic center of commerce. Estonia reoriented its economy and society towards the west, becoming a member of the EU, the eurozone, NATO and the OECD. As such it has particularly integrated its economy with those of the Nordic countries.  However many companies find success using Estonia as a base for trade with Russia and other former Soviet states. Estonia’s tech-savvy population, stable politics and sound economic policies have created an innovative and open business environment. This provides American companies more opportunities than one would usually expect in a country of only 1.3 million people. The U.S.-Estonian economic relationship is strong and growing rapidly, with two-way trade and investment more than doubling over the last three years.
