The Second Inauguration of Barack Obama
On January 21st, President Barack Obama took the oath of office during the Inaugural swearing-in ceremony at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. and delivered his Second Inaugural Address.

Pabradė Orphanage Visit
On December 23rd, families from the U.S. Embassy visited the Pabradės Vaikų Globos Namai. As part of the "Toys for Tots" campaign every family and individual at the U.S. Embassy donated toys, games, clothes or other items that was given directly to the children at the orphanage.

Vileišio Progymnasium students visit American Center Library
On February 8th, PAS welcomed 19 students and 3 teachers from Vileišio Progymnasium to the American Center Library. American interns gave a joint presentation about the work of the Embassy, themselves, and National Parks in the United States.

U.S. Embassy at the Vilnius Education Fair
From February 7-9th, the U.S. Embassy supported the EducationUSA stand at the annual Vilnius International Education Fair, in which foreign and local universities presented opportunities for studying at their institutions.

On February 1st, PAS continued its series, “Your Visit to America at the American Center,” by welcoming six students and their teacher from St. Kristoforo Gymnasium in Vilnius to the American Center Library.

Pennsylvania National Guard officers visit Simono Daukanto Gymnasium
On February 1st, three officers from the Pennsylvania National Guard visited the Simono Daukanto Gymnasium in Vilnius to present a class on the 20 year history of the relationship between the Pennsylvania National Guard and Lithuanian Armed Forces as well as to show the role of citizen-soldiers in the U.S. Army.

Outreach visit to Panevėžys schools
On January 25th, Political Officer Vanna Chan, Political Specialist Renata Dromantaitė and intern Meredith Mantel traveled to Panevežys to visit two schools – the Panevežys Special School and the Panevežys Rožynas Basic School to meet with students as well as commemorate International Holocaust Day.

On January 21-22, U.S. Human Rights Advocate Cheryl Thomas and Police Lieutenant Scott Jenkins led police seminars in Trakai to share the U.S. legal and practical experience in implementing domestic violence laws.

Embassy Vilnius Hosts "Political Transitions" web chat
On January 22nd, in cooperation with the State Department’s IIP office, the U.S. Embassy organized a web chat with two former U.S. Congressmen to discuss the transition into and out of political power, and what the world might expect from the second Obama Administration.
