US Department of Labor awards $10 million grant to combat child labor in Ecuador and Panama
The U.S. Department of Labor announced the award of two new cooperative agreements supporting efforts by the governments of Ecuador and Panama to combat child labor among vulnerable groups. Both projects include a focus on children from Afro-descendant, indigenous and migrant populations.

With the support of the U.S. Embassy and their Alcance Positivo program, the Danilo Pérez Foundation organized a concert highlighting the musical talent of youth that received training through the ‘Al ComPaz Musical’ program. Disappearance of US Embassy contractor and family (Oct 15)
We can confirm that a contract employee working at the US Embassy and family are currently unaccounted for. At this time, there is no indication of foul play or that any harm has come to the family. The U.S. Embassy is working closely with the Panamanian National Police on the matter.
