Peace Corps Swearing In Ceremony for New Volunteers

United States Ambassador, Phyllis Powers and General Director of the Panama Peace Corps, Brian Riley, were in charge of a swearing-in ceremony for forty-eight new Peace Corps volunteers. The President of the Republic of Panama, H.E. Ricardo Martinelli, also attended the swearing-in ceremony as a guest of honor. The new volunteers will lend their services along the nine provinces of the Republic, as well as in the indigenous Ngóbe-Buglé and Emberá-Wounaan Comarcas. The volunteers will work in the fields of environmental health and community economic development.
