About this Facility

Welcome! We are pleased that you have taken this opportunity to visit our web site. This site is part of our commitment to make your experience with our Medical Center as personal and as individual as we can!  The content has been organized so that you can easily find the information you need, and we have provided the information necessary for you to reach us should you need more assistance.

As World War II was ending, the country’s commitment to war Veterans became even stronger.  In 1951, The Erie community received a brand new medical center solely for the care of Veterans.  We have the honor and privilege to serve Veterans in a nine-county area within northwestern Pennsylvania, eastern Ohio, and southwestern New York. We are honored to serve those who lived a commitment to protect our nation.

Today, Erie VAMC is recognized as one of the top-performing medical centers in the delivery of high-quality health care.  My goal is to assist in accelerating the improvements in service provided by our facility to the veterans we serve.  These improvements are tracked in three important areas:  the satisfaction veterans experience, the quality of the service we provide, and the efficiency with which we provide care and services to you.  I am committed to making sure you have access to these services since access is a critical component of quality health care.

I encourage you to set up your own profile in My HealtheVet. With My HealtheVet, you can read more about what interests you, as well as manage your prescriptions, appointments, and other medical information.  Optimal healthcare requires a partnership between the patient and providers.  My HealtheVet provides tools allowing you to become a more active participant in your care.  My HealtheVet is a phenomenal tool, try it out!

Again, welcome to Erie VAMC. Come back often!
