US Consul General - Brian Shukan

Brian Shukan

Brian Shukan assumed responsibility as United States Consul General in Casablanca, Morocco on July 31, 2011.

Prior to arriving in Casablanca, Mr. Shukan attended the U.S. Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island.  His previous overseas assignments include service at the U.S. Embassies in Ghana, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Luxembourg, and Benin.  He also served as Saudi Arabia Desk Officer at the Department of State in Washington, D.C.

Mr. Shukan received a B.A. in History and Philosophy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis, and an M.A. in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College.  He also attended the State Department’s Arabic Field School in Tunis, Tunisia.

Mr. Shukan is from Longmeadow, Massachusetts, and is an avid New England sports fan.  He is married to Clare Voisey Shukan and has two children.
