Step 3:  Pay the applicable fee

The application fee is $110.00. Accepted payment methods are:

IN PERSON - Cash, USD or Euros or by Credit card - Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Diners

BY MAIL – Fees by mail may be paid by sending a bank check in Euros only, obtained at a Greek bank, made out to the American Embassy. The Embassy is not authorized to accept personal checks or cash.        If you are enclosing more than one application, you may send one bank check for the total amount.   Finally, please note that the fee is a non-refundable processing fee and is retained by the Department of State whether or not the passport is issued.

NOTE:  if you apply in person you are required to schedule an appointment

Step 4
 - Passport Photographs

Please submit two recent color photos (taken within the last six months), 5cm x 5cm with a white background.

NOTE:  U.S. passport photographs are different from Greek passport photographs and many Greek photographers are not familiar with U.S. photo specifications.  We strongly recommend that you print out the photo requirements and take them to the photographer. Photographs that do not meet the specified requirements will be rejected.  Vending machine photographs and photographs printed on a home computer are unacceptable.
