What do you know about media literacy?
Today’s youth are flooded with media messages while at the same time they are building
their own identities and values. These media messages may not always be as they
appear to be. For this reason, it is important for young people to become media
literate so that they learn to read between the lines and get the real meaning behind
the messages.
What is media literacy? Media literacy is being able to analyze media messages,
understand the intent of the messages, and judge how the information in the messages
is used.
What is meant by media? Media includes channels such as TV, radio, the
Internet, movies, videos, magazines, and newspapers through which messages are delivered.
